Celebrating Pride - How your flowers helped 🏳️🌈💐
Loud, proud, and bursting with colour our Pride and Summer of Love bouquets encapsulate everything we love about Pride Month!
Hand-picked with an array of brightly coloured blooms - roses, chrysanthemums, hypericum and agapanthus, to name a few - these bouquets were designed to spread love and create moments of joy…and that they did in more ways than one.
With every bouquet sold, we were able to make a donation to our wonderful charity partner, The Albert Kennedy Trust – who work tirelessly to support LGBTQ+ young people here in the UK, providing them with safe housing, employment, education or training, in a welcoming and open environment that celebrates all LGBTQ+ identities.
Our partners at AKT have shared with us how your contribution will impact their work and the lives of these young people –
“Thank you so much for the update and for your support of AKT.
To put your donation into perspective it will provide the equivalent of eight nights of emergency accommodation for a young LGBTQ+ facing homelessness following a period of abuse and rejection from their family and often wider community.
When young people first approach akt, we will often need to provide short-term emergency accommodation until another option can be found. Options can include hostels, shelters and even hotels.
Alongside the temporary accommodation akt will ensure that the young person has data top up for phone/laptops, access to a mobile phone (we can supply basic smartphones too), food vouchers and any necessary toiletries, etc.
Emergency Support Packs are part of our front-line services - thank you for your part in ensuring that young LGBTQ+ people are safe.”
Thank you to Albert Kennedy Trust for all your incredibly valuable work and to everyone who purchased for showing your support!
Love is Love all year round 🏳️🌈❤️
